The Who, What, Where - 23.06.06 The Players Association is a unique online radio station where you can listen to and search streaming DJ mixes. Ok, so what's unique about that you may well ask? We are not an exclusive service for the usual superstar DJs. There are countless sites for that. We are not a large commercial company wishing to tap into the underground, The Players Association was set up by DJs for Djs.
Like the terms electronica and jazz, nu jazz is a loosely defined umbrella musical style. It ranges from combining live instrumentation with beats of jazz house (exemplified by the French St Germain, the German Jazzanova and Fila Brazillia from the UK) to more band-based improvised jazz with electronic elements (such as that of the The Cinematic Orchestra from the UK, the Belgian PhusionCulture nu jazz improvisation collective, and the Norwegian "future jazz" style pioneered by Bugge Wesseltoft, Jaga Jazzist, Nils Petter Molvær, and others). It is a term sometimes ascribed to Squarepusher's music.

tDJs022 - Balearic Bliss
A balearic mix of tunes that evokes only images of the beaches of Brazil and Ibizan sunsets. Clearly, Washington DC's winter is leaving DJ Sean Quinn dreaming of warmer places, while performing at new local spot, Eleventh Street Lounge.

Artist: Keston & Westdal Album title: Truth Is Stranger Label: Unearthed Music
Released: December 2006Artist Website: www.kestwest.comKeston & Westdal have released Truth Is Stranger, a voyage into new territory for this duo. Their previous work, Super Structure Baby (2004), was an auspicious departure into the world of electronic music where synthetic vibes dominated the landscape. Truth Is Stranger moves over the horizon, exploring new country that incorporates more jazz sounds. As we begin our trip, "One 3 Five Funk" announces that this vacation is going to be fun. Organ work here is prominent as the track takes on a funky sound. It seems KestWest has moved away from some of the drum machine work on Super Structure and have settled for a more organic sound.
